Friday was a pretty special day. Australian export The Wiggles started their Fall tour right here in Vancouver, and we managed to keep it a secret almost right until curtain up!

All the usual favorites were there – Anthony, Jeff (wake up Jeff!), Murray and Sam, Dorothy the Dinosaur, Henry the Octopus, Wags the Dog and of course Captain ‘Ahoy there me hearties’ Feathersword, along with a few new additions to the Wiggles Dancers – particularly a gymnast originally from the Russian gymnastics team. The theme was a circus/acrobatic one, and had everyone doing tumbles, flips and handstands. What fun!

There was dancing in the aisles, there was singing and waving, and I don’t just mean the adults :-D – all the kids were having a tremendous time. We found the show didn’t go too long, so there were very few grumpy grinches towards the end, good for mom and dad’s patience considering the poor parking situation that took literally an hour to exit from.

Kids aged from not-able-to-walk-yet-but-able-to-stand-and-boogie, right up to around 5 tend to love The Wiggles, and they all have their favorite characters. We’re constantly playing ‘wake up Jeff!’, so no prizes for guessing the favorite around here!

The Wiggles are heading around most of Canada and a couple of US states. There are tickets available still in most locations, and they are available at TicketFeeder (or Ticketmaster) for most locations, but check Morris Center, WFCU Centre, John Labatt Centre, Live Nation and Capital Tickets if you don’t see your location listed.
