Hitting the Pumpkin Patch

Posted on | October 17, 2009 | No Comments

It’s time to take the little ones out to the pumpkin patch to find the perfect gourd! Don’t worry too much if your young kids don’t warm to the idea. They get way more excited and involved in the process from around 3, but often they love hunting down a nice (for them) pumpkin. Try and find a patch that has other activities such as a petting zoo so if they aren’t having much fun you can distract them with some bunnies or goats.

If you haven’t done it before, be sure to take some gumboots for everyone, especially if you’re in a wetter area, and don’t forget some warm clothes. If your local patch includes a hay ride, it can get pretty drafty back there ;-)

We’ll take a look at some pumpkin carving and decorating fun soon, so watch out for that.
