Switch off the TV and read

Studies show that children with active exposure to language have social and educational advantages over their peers – and reading is one of the best exposures to language. Reading to your child lays the foundation for later independent reading. ~ Kids Health – Toddler Reading Time

My family all enjoy reading. In fact, we have a problem when we have to move because of the hundreds of books we have!  The love of reading was introduced to me as a child. I have had lots of stories read to me. Some are favourites, some taught me about life, some made me laugh! Even as an adult, I love stories, written or told. I’ve chose some storybooks that are perfect for two year olds. Take the time out to read with your toddler. You will never regret it. I recommend:

The Going to Bed Book: (lap-size edition)

Chugga Chugga Choo Choo

My Big Animal Book (My Big Board Books)

Richard Scarry’s Best Word Book Ever (Golden Bestsellers Series)

Happy Birthday to You!

Big Board First 100 Words (Bright Baby)

Guess How Much I Love You
