A season for giving

But just a few scant days before the Salvation Army begins distributing those toys, it finds itself short of being able to provide a gift to about 250 children registered for the program...“At Christmas you want every child to have a toy and a wonderful memory of Christmas day that they will remember the rest of their lives,” Parker said.  ~ James A. Jones Jr. on Bradenton.com

It’s not all about Johnny or Sue. Do you want your children to be merciful, caring and considerate of others who don’t have anything under the tree this year? One way is to clean out their toy cupboards ahead of Christmas with them. Help them to pick out toys that they no longer use and wrap them to give away to children who would not normally receive anything. Another idea that I thought was very special was a mum who asks her children to give away one present that they receive at Christmas to a child who would otherwise not get one.
